The LAF Command, through its Directorate of Orientation, announced last night that 131 Syrians had been arrested in the areas of Dabbabiyeh and Chadra in Akkar for entering Lebanese territory illegally.

The command said army units carried out a series of security measures in various areas, including raids and the establishment of temporary checkpoints, as part of efforts to pursue violators and maintain security.

According to the statement, the operations resulted in the arrest of 10 Lebanese nationals, one Palestinian and 131 Syrians. Seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities, while investigations into the detainees began under the supervision of the competent judiciary.

The remaining arrests, according to the statement, took place in the areas of Jalala in Zahle, Jounieh in Keserwan, Brital in Baalbek and Zaghdaraya in Sidon, in connection with various security-related cases.

The arrest of the 131 Syrians comes as the LAF continues what it described as intensified measures along the northern border with Syria, particularly in areas where people cross through unofficial routes.
